Meet Your Instructor, Chanté Griffin

Chanté Griffin is a journalist and essayist whose work centers on race, culture, faith, and Black hair. She is the author of Loving Your Black Neighbor As Yourself: A Guide to Closing the Space Between Us, which is a 2025 NAACP Image Awards Nominee for “Outstanding Literary Work - Instructional." Chanté is a contributing writer for the Washington Post, Faithfully Magazine, and L.A. Parent Magazine; and she is a former contributor to The Root, The Christian Science Monitor, and L.A. Weekly. Chanté is also a proud VONA (Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation) alum. 

When Chanté isn’t writing, she coaches creatives through Spirit & Scribe, an online workshop that sits at the intersection of writing craft & spiritual formation. In her free time, she enjoys dancing salsa, west coast swing, and partially reading the dozens of books in her to-read pile.
